Homeschool Graduation 2023

For Florida homeschooled Seniors who are graduating in 2023. 

This event is open only to Standard Members with an active membership to the Florida Homeschool Association (not open to the general public).

This is a separately ticketed event from Convention 2023. Please purchase Convention 2023 tickets separately, if you also wish to attend the convention and exhibit hall. Attendance at Convention is not required to participate in graduation. Click 'read more' below for all graduation information...

GENERAL INFORMATION

Calling all Seniors! Congratulations! This is your chance to shine!

Welcome to the Florida Homeschool Association's annual graduation ceremony! We provide a traditional cap & gown ceremony for Florida homeschoolers whose families have a membership in the Florida Homeschool Association (FLHSA). 

Our 2023 graduates will receive a ceremonial diploma, hear from inspirational speakers, receive personalized recognition, and celebrate their successes surrounded by family and friends.

Our 2023 venue is the fabulous Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Ocean Center is the ideal place for photo opportunities, celebrations and extended stays for relaxation, family reunions or entertainment. We encourage families to come for the day, or to plan an extended stay to commemorate their accomplishments.

MORE INFORMATION

Families may choose to come in for the day, or make their own arrangements to stay at nearby hotels and resorts. We are not providing hotel accommodations, therefore families will do this on their own. (We recommend making travel arrangements early as Daytona Beach is a popular vacation destination.)

Parking at the venue is $10 per vehicle and is NOT included in the graduation ticket price. Those staying at nearby hotels can park and walk from area hotels, or may also choose to use hotel transportation to the venue. 

Graduation will be held during the annual Florida Homeschool Association convention. Graduates and their familes are not required to participate in the convention to attend the graduation. The convention and graduation are 2 separately ticketed events, so please purchase tickets to convention and/or graduation accordingly.

Parent/family must be active members of the Florida Homeschool Association in good standing to participate in graduation  (only one membership is required per family). Membership in our "Standard Membership" program is required to participate in graduation. Please use the membership ID number & email address of the FLHSA member for the ticket purchase to go thru properly.  

***Those found to join-then-immediately-cancel an FLHSA membership simply to purchase graduation tickets will be disqualified.

TICKET PRICING & INFORMATION

Tickets are $75 per graduate**. Participants should purchase ONE TICKET per graduate (not per person, per graduate). 

One ticket includes:

• Graduation for ONE  student
• Traditional (signed & dated) diploma in a black cover
• FOUR additional guests

Ticket does NOT include parking. Ticket does not include convention registration.

**Due to the nature of this event, tickets are completely NON-REFUNDABLE. There are no exceptions to this refund policy, neither for emergency nor any other reason whatsoever.

GUESTS

Venue capacity requires that we limit each graduate to 4 (four) guests. Seniors can bring up to 4 additional guests with the ticket price.

Graduates are not required to bring guests, however additional seating for up to 4 guests is included in the ticket price. Graduates may bring 0-4 guests, included in the ticket price.

We realize that some families prefer to bring more than 4 guests, however we must limit graduates to 4 (maximum) guests each. Additional guests are welcome to purchase their own Convention 2023 tickets (separately) to enter the venue, view the procession, take photos before/after the ceremony, and participate in other ways. 

NOTE: Some graduates may not bring 4 guests, opening up the possibility for additional seats later in the year. If we have remaining seating for additional guests, we will open them up as additional guest tickets for purchase later in the year. Additional guest seating will be a separate ticket purchase, is not guaranteed, cannot be promised nor held for any families, and may not even happen. Please plan accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATES

A cap & gown is REQUIRED attire, in any color of the students preference (cap & gown is not included in ticket price). The wearing of a stole, medals, honor cords and other traditional accessories is permitted, but optional. 

The cap & gown is to be worn in traditional fashion, with appropriate attire underneath. Seniors wanting to decorate the cap can do so! In considering attire and decorative accessories, we ask that you always choose a G-rated message/theme.

More information about graduation attire, where to purchase, and other details, will be sent to registrants separately. Graduates & families will also be asked to provide additional information for the ceremony and diploma; please watch emails to receive this information in the coming months.

REFUND POLICY

There are no refunds on graduation tickets.

OTHER INFORMATION

Families wishing to enjoy Convention 2023 are invited to join us all day at the Ocean Center. One ticket to convention provides all day access to the venue, the workshops and presentations, vendor hall and other exhibitions. Consider purchasing a convention ticket for every member of the family 18+ to enjoy the facility all day, meet friends, and interact with other Florida homeschoolers at the Ocean Center!
